Thuraya SIM Card - NOVA Prepaid

The Thuraya NOVA Prepaid SIM Card provides a flexible way to access satellite communication without committing to a monthly contract. Designed for use with compatible Thuraya satellite phones, it allows you to stay connected when travelling, working or operating beyond the reach of conventional mobile networks.

Simply add prepaid airtime when required and use your handset for satellite calls and text messaging across the Thuraya coverage area. This makes the NOVA SIM a practical option for occasional travellers, remote workers, expedition teams and anyone who wants a dependable backup communication solution.

With no fixed monthly bill, the Thuraya NOVA Prepaid SIM gives you greater control over your usage and costs. It is particularly well suited to seasonal journeys, emergency kits and remote trips where reliable communication may be needed at short notice.

Please note that Thuraya prepaid airtime is compatible with first-generation Thuraya/Hughes phones such as the SO2510, SG2520 & 71XX.

Renewal Fee

The annual Thuraya NOVA renewal fee is 39 units. This amount is automatically deducted from the available SIM balance on the renewal date each year.

Your SIM must have at least 39 units of available credit on its renewal date. When there is insufficient credit, the SIM will enter a 12-month grace period. During this period, enough airtime must be added to cover the renewal fee and prevent the SIM from being deactivated.

If the account is not topped up before the end of the grace period, any remaining balance will be cleared and the SIM will be permanently deactivated. A reactivation fee may apply where reactivation is available.

By requesting activation of prepaid airtime, you agree that network services may begin before the end of the usual statutory cancellation period. Once the airtime has been activated, you will lose the right to cancel the prepaid airtime purchase or request a refund.

• First call must be made within 12 months. 
• If a call is not made within the first 12 months from the date of activation, the SIM will enter dormancy status and a fee of $19 will be deducted from the balance every month till call is made.
• The Thuraya NOVA SIM has an initial validity of 30 days from first call.
• Annual Renewal Fee: $39.00 (39 Units deducted automatically from balance on renewal date)
• If the account balance is below 39 units at the renewal time, the account enters the 12-month grace period (Incoming calls are still possible).
• If the account is refilled within the grace period, the existing balance will be restored.
• If account is not refilled within the grace period, it will be deactivated and the number will be lost.
• Dormancy Fee: If there is no activity on your SIM card for 12 months+ (e.g. making a call), then a dormancy fee of $19.00 will be deducted from your SIM card. If you have a balance with less than $19.00, then the entire balance will be deducted.
• Minimum billable increment = 1 minute increments, 1 minute increments thereafter.
