SmartOne Solar Satellite Tracker
SmartOne Solar is the first Globalstar satellite tracker to contain solar-rechargeable batteries offering a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of tracking valuable assets. Near global tracking at an affordable price.
Please note: stock expected for this product is mid-March 2026.
Globalstar SmartOne Solar Satellite Asset Tracker
The Globalstar SmartOne Solar is a self-powered satellite asset tracker designed to monitor valuable equipment and vehicles in remote locations where cellular coverage is unavailable or unreliable. Using integrated solar charging and the Globalstar satellite network, the SmartOne Solar can provide years of low-maintenance tracking without the need for external power sources.
Ideal for trailers, containers, vehicles, boats, construction equipment, generators, tanks, and other mobile or fixed assets, the SmartOne Solar delivers reliable location reporting across Globalstar's near-global satellite coverage area.
Getting Started
Getting your SmartOne Solar up and running is simple.
Step 1: Choose Your Messaging Plan
Before activation, you will need to select a SmartOne messaging plan. This allows the device to transmit GPS positions and status messages over the Globalstar satellite network.
Step 2: Choose a Message Delivery Option
The SmartOne Solar requires a destination for its tracking data. Most customers choose OSAT Track, our cloud-based tracking portal, but messages can also be delivered directly to your own systems.
Available delivery options include:
- OSATTrack
- Raw data delivery to a corporate server
- Decoded messages via email
- Decoded messages delivered to a URL or API endpoint
Step 3: Configure the Device
The SmartOne Solar can be configured using a USB configuration cable and a computer. During setup you can customise:
- Reporting frequency
- Movement sensitivity
- Motion detection settings
- Geo-fence rules
- Theft recovery settings
- Authorised and unauthorised movement parameters
Step 4: Mount the Tracker
Once configured, simply mount the SmartOne Solar on your asset with a clear view of the sky. No external antennas or power connections are required.
The tracker will begin transmitting location updates according to your chosen configuration.
Tracking and Monitoring
The SmartOne Solar reports location data via the Globalstar satellite network to your chosen delivery destination.
When used with OSATTrack, you can:
- View live and historical asset locations
- Create geo-fence zones
- Receive email alerts and notifications
- Monitor multiple assets simultaneously
- Generate reports
- Organise assets into groups
- Access tracking history throughout the service period
Reporting intervals can be configured from every 5 minutes during movement up to infrequent monitoring intervals for long-term asset management.
Solar-Powered Operation
The SmartOne Solar uses integrated rechargeable batteries supported by a built-in solar panel.
Under normal operating conditions, the solar charging system helps maximise service life and minimise maintenance requirements. Even during extended periods of low sunlight, the device can continue transmitting regular reports for several months depending on reporting frequency and environmental conditions.
Smart Tracking Modes
Standard Tracking
The tracker sends location updates at fixed intervals configured during setup. Reports can be sent whether the asset is stationary or moving.
Motion-Based Tracking
Location reports are only transmitted when movement is detected, helping to reduce message usage and operating costs.
Reduced Messaging Mode
When an asset is stationary or operating within a designated area, the SmartOne Solar can reduce reporting frequency automatically. Once movement is detected, reporting frequency increases.
Theft Recovery Mode
Designed to help recover stolen assets, this mode allows the device to switch from low-frequency monitoring to high-frequency reporting when unauthorised movement is detected.
Geo-Fencing
Create virtual boundaries around assets and receive alerts when equipment enters or leaves designated locations.
Built for Harsh Environments
The SmartOne Solar is engineered for demanding outdoor applications and is resistant to dust, water, vibration, and extreme environmental conditions, making it suitable for long-term deployment on valuable assets worldwide.
OSATTrack Professional Mapping Portal
