The first Globalstar satellite tracker to contain solar-rechargeable batteries offering a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of tracking valuable assets. Near global tracking at an affordable price.
How it Works
Installation
Installation is quick and easy - there is no need for external antennas or power, simply place on the asset with a clear line of sight to the sky.
Tracking
Globalstar SmartOne Solar is a convenient option for the tracking of valuable assets such as cars, trucks, trailers, cargo containers, construction equipment, boats and any other mobile asset. The tracker can easily be moved between assets as the need arises. The device can be configured to transmit location up to every 5 minutes to OSAT Track mapping portal. This online system allows you to view historic data, configure alerts and geo-fencing rules on the satellite tracker.
Batteries and Charging
The solar batteries can deliver over eight years of life and lack of sunlight is not a problem as reports can be sent twice a day for several months even in dark conditions.
Messaging
A wide range of options can be configured on the SmartOne Solar including message frequency, movement and motion sensitivity levels. However, your SmartOne Solar tracking device cannot operate without a messaging plan. OSAT offers four subscription plans (Standard Plan, Light Plan, Heavy Plan and Unlimited Plan). Additionally, to receive messages a mapping portal is required. We offer an add-on OSAT Track service or using your own corporate server is available with a one-off fee. Please note that you must choose one of the mapping options mentioned to receive messages
Configuration
The option to set up geo-fencing capabilities is also available, you simply need to connect the device to a computer using a USB configuration cable. Once configuration is complete the Globalstar SmartOne is ready to be placed on the asset.
SmartOne Solar Key Features:
SmartOne Solar Global Coverage
With coverage in over 120 countries across the world and many ocean-covered areas, the SmartOne keeps you in contact with friends, family and colleagues in areas where mobile phones don’t offer a connection, even in the most remote areas of the world.
Standard Messaging Mode
In Standard Messaging Mode, the SmartOne Solar reports its GPS position at regular time intervals that are programmed during the initial configuration process. The message interval can be programmed in 1-minute intervals from 35 minutes up to 45 days and messages will be transmitted regardless of whether the asset is moving or stationary. Alternatively, the device can be configured to send messages only when the asset is in motion with messages transmitted from as little as every 5 minutes.
Reduced Messaging Mode
Reduced Messaging Mode reduces the cost associated with transmitting messages over the Globalstar satellite network by sending messages at a minimal message interval when the asset is stationary or in a defined area and transmitting at a higher message interval when the asset is moving or changing locations.
Theft Recovery/ Geo-Fencing Mode
The Theft Recovery mode allows to you configure the device to differentiate between authorized and unauthorized movement of an asset. While the asset remains in an authorised state the SmartOne Solar will send out infrequent messages. If the SmartOne Solar detects an unauthorised state, such as movement out of a pre-defined area, it can be configured to send out high frequency messages to enable the unauthorised movement to be monitored closely.
Geo-Fencing
In conjunction with OSAT Track, OSAT’s online mapping portal, the SmartOne satellite asset tracker offers a geo-fencing feature. This allows you to predefine a set of geographical boundaries and be alerted by email when the device enters or exits the geo-fenced area.
Dust & Water Resistant
The SmartOne Solar satellite asset tracker is designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions.
Compatible with Mapping Portals
As Smartone trackers require a mapping portal to receive messages, our OSAT Tracking portal is an ideal service for providing messaging and real-time information via your GPS location. Please note the £8.50 EX.VAT monthly fee for OSAT Track is applicable per device. If you have your own corporate service or mapping portal set up, our SmartOneplans will accommodate these services, but at an additional charge.
OSAT Track Professional Mapping
Any person provided with the OSAT Track login can become an operator to monitor any number of GSM or satellite assets simultaneously in real-time and historically on the Professional plan as well as use the other features:
- Notifications and message alerts can be sent directly to the holder of the device via email
- Geo-Fencing capabilities
- Global Tracking
- Multiple layer options and map views
