Globalstar SmartOne C Satellite Tracker
Monitor and protect valuable assets beyond cellular coverage with the Globalstar SmartOne C Satellite Tracker. Compact, rugged and easy to install, it provides reliable GPS asset tracking for vehicles, trailers, containers, boats, construction equipment and other remote assets, with configurable location reports, movement alerts, geofencing and theft recovery notifications.
The SmartOne C is a satellite-powered asset tracker designed to monitor and protect valuable equipment in areas where cellular coverage is unavailable or unreliable. Commonly used for trailers, containers, vehicles, boats, generators, construction equipment and remote assets, the SmartOne C provides location reporting, movement alerts and theft recovery notifications via the Globalstar satellite network.
How the SmartOne C Works
Once installed on your asset and activated with a messaging plan, the SmartOne C monitors movement and GPS location using its built-in motion sensors and positioning technology.
When the device is triggered by movement, scheduled reporting intervals, or custom alert conditions, it transmits location and status information through the Globalstar satellite network. This information is then delivered to your chosen mapping platform, server or email address, allowing you to monitor your asset remotely from anywhere with an internet connection.
The SmartOne C requires a clear view of the sky to transmit messages effectively.
What Happens When You Receive Your Device?
Before your SmartOne C can begin tracking, three things are required:
- A SmartOne messaging plan
- A message delivery option or mapping portal
- Device configuration
Each SmartOne C is configured to suit your specific application. Reporting frequency, movement sensitivity, alert settings and geo-fence parameters can all be customised depending on how you intend to use the device.
Once activated and configured, simply install the tracker on your asset and it will begin transmitting reports according to your chosen settings.
Viewing Your Tracking Data
The SmartOne C does not display locations directly on the device. Instead, messages are delivered to your chosen destination, such as:
- OSATTrack mapping portal
- Your own corporate tracking platform
- Email notifications
- A custom server or URL endpoint
Most customers choose GTCTrack, which provides an easy-to-use online mapping portal where you can view current and historical locations, receive alerts and manage multiple assets from a single dashboard.
Power Options
The SmartOne C can operate using four standard AA lithium batteries (included) or an optional external power source.
When powered by internal batteries, the device can operate for up to three years depending on reporting frequency and usage. This makes it ideal for portable or covert tracking applications.
For permanent installations, the SmartOne C can also be connected to an external DC power source using an optional power cable.
Tracking Modes
-
Standard Tracking
Reports are transmitted at pre-configured intervals, whether the asset is moving or stationary. This mode is ideal for routine monitoring and asset visibility. -
Reduced Messaging Mode
Designed to minimise airtime costs by reducing reporting frequency when an asset is stationary and increasing reporting frequency when movement is detected. -
Theft Recovery Mode
Allows the device to differentiate between authorised and unauthorised movement. If unexpected movement occurs or a geo-fence is breached, the SmartOne C can automatically switch to high-frequency reporting to support asset recovery.
