Iridium Sat Phone Top-Ups Useful Information
- Iridium SIM cards start with zero balance and validity.
- A top-up's validity period can be extended at a later date by purchasing another prepaid voucher or 30-day extension before the original top-up expires.
- If the validity is not extended then your SIM card will expire and become unusable. Any minutes remaining will be lost and your SIM will enter a 270-day grace period in which you may reactivate the SIM by adding a new voucher. The original balance will be lost and will not be added to the new balance.
- When the grace period has ended the SIM card will automatically deactivate and you will need to purchase a new Iridium SIM card and pre-paid Iridium voucher.
- Reactivating a deactivated card incurs the Reactivation Only charge plus the cost of a new airtime voucher.

Please note that upon requesting activation of your prepaid airtime you are agreeing that we can start providing your network services before the end of the usual statutory cancellation period and that by doing so, you lose your right to cancel your purchase of the prepaid airtime or request a refund. Prepaid units that have been carried over for more than three years will be expired on a daily basis from prepaid account balances. For any customer who has purchased a 3k/5k e-voucher, a four-year expiry period on units will apply.
All Prepaid SIMs have a 270 day grace period from the date that the card expired or the date that the card is activated where it can be recharged. Iridium Prepaid SIM Cards are automatically deactivated after the 270 day grace period is over.
Topping up will allow you to add purchased minutes to your existing balance and extend the existing expiration by the additional validity period up to a maximum of 24 months. Prepaid units that have been carried over for more than three years will be expired on a daily basis from prepaid account balances. For any customer who has purchased a 3k/5k e-voucher, a four-year expiry period on units will apply.
Topping up will allow you to add purchased minutes but the validity will be extended from the date of topup and not the existing expiration date.
Latin America Voucher Coverage:
For making calls within Latin America and up to 12 nautical miles off shore. Includes calls from Mexico, Central America, and the entire South America continent. Countries within the Caribbean are excluded from this coverage.
Canada & Alaska (Northern Lights) Voucher Coverage:
For making calls within Canada and Alaska and up to 12 nautical miles off shore. Gives you 200 minutes when calling to US phone numbers. Calls to other countries will be charged at 48 units per minute.
Middle East & Africa Voucher Coverage:
This option cannot be used to make calls outside these countries. It is only for making calls from the following countries: Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Jordan, Juan De Nova Island, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mayotte, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa (inc. Price Edwards Island), Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Republic of Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, plus 12 nautical miles into coastal waters
Topping up will cause all existing minutes and expiration period to be lost and replaced with the new voucher at the point of top up
