With its ruggedised, C1D2-certified M2M terminal, the Cobham EXPLORER 540 can withstand any environment as it delivers secure IP data on both Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) or cellular networks. EXPLORER 540 is Inmarsat’s only BGAN M2M terminal that comes with dual-mode functionality, and, thanks to its IP66 design, is perfectly suited for indoor or outdoor fixed installation in remote or unmanned locations.
Running a dual network operating mode with automatic switching between BGAN and cellular, the Cobham EXPLORER 540 is the world’s first of its type, and Inmarsat’s only one. It allows critical monitoring and control applications the reliability of “always-on” connectivity and allows users the choice of the best network carrier depending on location.
But the EXPLORER 540 can hold its own in even the harshest, most remote environments. Being water and dust resistant, it is designed to rating IP66 with a tough casing and a pole mount included for extra elevation opportunities. Set up is simple and operation even more so, with remote terminal management functionality available via SMS.
