The Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 is the world's smallest, waterproof PLB. The Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 can be single handedly deployed to send your GPS location to emergency services in case of SOS.
The Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 provides peace of mind on land or at sea allowing you to alert global emergency services of your location at the push of a button.
Unlike most satellite enabled notification devices, the rescueME PLB1 requires no monthly or annual subscription, making it one of the most cost-effective GPS enabled emergency beacons available for long term use.
The Ocean Signal PLB1 is 30% smaller by volume, so it easily fits on a lifejacket or a rucksack strap! Also, the retractable antenna, to assist in the transmission of your GPS location, can be easily stowed away by turning the dial at the top of the device.
The RescueME PLB1 comes with a 7 Warranty as well as up to 7 Year Standby Battery life. However, once you have activated the PLB1 in an emergency or the battery reaches the expiry period, the battery must be replaced.
Please note that the battery is not user-replaceable and must be sent to an authorised service dealer for replacement. Please contact your nearest service centre in your country for further information.
Whether you are on land or at sea, the PLB1 provides peace of mind that global emergency service can be alerted at the push of a button.
The Ocean Signal PLB1 can be activated single-handed, even in the most challenging situations due to the simple spring-loaded flap at the front of the device. This cover covers the activation button, to prevent inadvertent use.
Once the emergency button is pressed on your PLB, your location will be sent to a rescue coordination centre via satellite. This SOS is then diverted to emergency services near to your location to aid rescue. The location will be continuously sent for a minimum of 24 hours.
Also, the high-density brightness strobe light helps Search and Rescue services to locate you, if you are out in the middle of the ocean or in a remote location on land, at night.
All Personal Locator Beacons sold by OSAT are pre-programmed with the US (366) country code. Whilst they will function anywhere around the world, the first authority to be contacted in an emergency situation would be the US Coastguard Agency with whom the PLB would be registered. Please contact us if you wish to have your PLB shipped with configuration for use in a country other than US or have a specific MMSI that should be programmed onto the device.
Registering your Personal Locator Beacon is required by law in most countries. Registering is very important because should your beacon ever be activated, it is how Search and Rescue Teams will know who you are, and contacts provided may be able to supply information about your specific travel plans. In the absence of this information, it may take longer for a search-and-rescue operation to begin.
Once you have received your programmed Personal Locator Beacon, the owner is required to register their PLB with the Cospas Sarsat website to add their device to the International Beacon Registration Database (IBRD). To register your device, you must provide your unique Beacon HEX ID number, which can be found on your PLB and box. Use the links below to register your device:
