If you want to send a quick SMS to a friend, family member, colleague or loved one, then use our quick links below to take you straight to the official network SMS pages. All you will need is the full satellite phone number and you will be able send the SMS direct
There are also other ways to contact Iridium, Inmarsat, Thuraya and Globalstar phones. All you will need to have is an active SIM card, and a valid phone number you will be able to follow the simple instructions below to send a message:
Iridium
- Open a new email, ensuring it is plain text and not HTML
- In the recipient, send the email to satellitephonenumber@msg.iridium.com. On Iridium this should display as 8816xxxxxxx@msg.iridium.com.
Inmarsat
- Open a new email, ensuring it is plain text and not HTML
- In the recipient, send the email to satellitephonenumber@message.inmarsat.com. On Inmarsat this should display as 87077xxxxxxx@message.inmarsat.com.
Thuraya
- Open a new email, ensuring it is plain text and not HTML. In the recipient, send the email to satellitephonenumber@sms.thuraya.com. On Thuraya this should display as 88216xxxxxxx@sms.thuraya.com.
Globalstar
- As Globalstar uses US based numbers, you should be able to send a successful SMS direct to the number of the Globalstar satellite phone. The only limitation for a handheld phone is the length of the message is 17 characters, whereas the Sat-Fi system supports full SMS messaging.
