Thuraya IP raises streaming speed to 512 Kbps

Thuraya IP Satellite Broadband Terminal
Satellite services provider Thuraya announced it's now offering streaming speeds of 512 Kbps on its IP service. The enhanced performance was recorded at a recent roadshow in Paris organized by Thuraya's media broadcasting partner, Geolink Satellite Services. It used IP bonding, which links two IP terminals together with a USB cable, and the ClipWay Software from Geolink. Thuraya's IP services can now be enjoyed at double the previous speed. Furthermore, Thuraya IP's asymmetric streaming capability allows users to adjust speeds according to bandwidth usage. Thuraya IP is based on a satellite data terminal, which delivers in ideal conditions 384 Kbps streaming and 444 Kbps standard IP.
