It has a long-lasting internal lithium battery with 100 hours of battery life in 10-minute tracking mode for ultimate convenience and portability. It has a slim design, a colour screen and a virtual keyboard with predictive text. Therefore, the inReach SE allows you to type 160 character messages using the device itself. These messages can be sent to any mobile phone number, email address or social media page even when outside of mobile network coverage. The inReach SE is the only device in its price category able to both send and receive text messages. On top of that, you will always receive a delivery confirmation that your message was sent.SOS Capabilities
The inReach SE is able to keep you safe anywhere in the world. If you find yourself in an emergency situation , use the built-in SOS button to trigger a distress alert. After receiving delivery confirmation, describe and update your situation. Reply to the message via a two-way text conversation with GEOS, DeLorme’s 24/7 search-and-rescue monitoring centre until help arrives. This function automatically activates the remote GPS tracking feature. Therefore providing you with accuracy to +/- 5 meters. This then assists the search-and-rescue personnel who will be trying to locate you, this works whether you are stationary or on the move.Signal Lock
The inReach SE has the ability to maintain satellite signal lock even in difficult GPS environments and has adjustable tracking intervals from 10 minutes to four hours. It also has a remote real-time follow me/find me tracking feature that uploads your GPS position updates to a dedicated MapShare page where your friends and family can log in and follow a detailed breadcrumb trail of your trip, as it happens. They are also able to ping a location and send messages to you via the MapShare page.Navigation Capabilities
The inReach SE has standalone capabilities. However, it can be wirelessly paired to your Smart devices using the DeLorme Earthmate App. This transforms the devices into global satellite communicators and navigation tools. Once you have paired your inReach SE with your mobile device you will get exclusive, unlimited access to DeLorme’s topographic maps and North American NOAA charts. If the maps are downloaded prior to departure, you can access them in the Earthmate App even when outside of mobile phone coverage.
