inReach Mini from Garmin is a palm-sized satellite communicator offering messaging, tracking, SOS and navigation anywhere in the world.
inReach Mini is the new global satellite tracker from Garmin which fits in the palm of your hand. It helps you to say in touch via the worldwide Iridium satellite network - send two way emails and SMS messages, make use of basic navigation features and in a worst case scenario call for SOS assistance.
Send and receive messages anywhere in the world even when out of mobile range with inReach Mini. There are two ways to message using the device, the quickest way is to send a preset message (e.g. I’m ok or Heading home). Alternatively to type a custom message you can use a paired smartphone to access the Garmin Earthmate app which allows access to a QWERTY keyboard.
You can send messages to an email address or mobile phone number from the inReach Mini, however in our experience messaging to email tends to be the most reliable method.
In the event that you get into a dangerous situation and need to call for assistance inReach can help. When you press the SOS button on the side of the inReach Mini your GPS co-ordinates will be sent to the GEOS Emergency Response
Center – a world leader in emergency response solutions and monitoring. GEOS will send a message to you to try to obtain further information on the situation. They also have access to your preset emergency contacts and will contact them for further info on what you are doing. Once the SOS button is pushed your co-ordinates will be automatically transmitted
GEOS work with emergency services worldwide and using your co-ordinates they will work with appropriate organisations to get help. They will not abandon the case until they are certain you are safe. every 2 minutes until the SOS is cancelled.
Track and share your location with friends, family and colleagues via the Iridium satellite network. inReach Mini track points can be sent manually or automatically at pre-defined intervals of 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. The tracking info is transmitted to your online MapShare page, a page unique to you where contacts can view your progress and send messages to your device.
inReach Mini is the first inReach to be compatible with a selected range of Garmin watches. This feature allows you to send and receive messages through the watch.
inReach Mini also pairs with an iOS or Android device to unlock extra capabilities via the EarthMate app. EarthMate allows you to access downloadable maps and send messages using the mobile device’s keyboard.
This is a great feature for those who need to make important decisions on their journey based on weather. Weather information is available for your current location, a specific waypoint or specific coordinates which can be manually entered. Extra charges apply for some weather services. As part of all inReach subscriptions you have access to an online account where you can manage device settings and contacts, preset messages, MapShare settings and billing. Using the online portal you can also link to social media accounts, setup waypoints and routes and upgrade firmware.

To access the Iridium network and communicate with your inReach Mini device, an active satellite subscription is required. Depending on your usage level, you can opt for plans with different inclusive messages each month.
SMS
Send a message through your device to an email address or SMS number. Not all mobile networks allow you to send text messages to satellite networks and as a result text messaging can be unreliable. Please check with your provider or contact us for further information.
TRACKING
Automated tracking is available on this device meaning contacts back home can follow your journey or you can monitor the movement of your assets.
SOS
Once the emergency button is pressed on your beacon, your location will be sent to a rescue coordination centre via satellite. This SOS is then diverted to emergency services near to your location to aid rescue. The location will be continuously sent for a minimum of 24 hours.
CUSTOM MESSAGES
This unit will allow you the ability to type, and send a custom message to friends, family or colleagues. This is ideal to keep in contact when on the move.
PRE-DEFINED MESSAGES
Setup frequently used messages before your trip which can be sent at the touch of a button with no need for typing e.g. running late, arrived safely.

NAVIGATION
Built in navigational features such as current location, way point marking, preplanning of routes and trip information are available on this unit. Some models offer an altimeter and/or compass.

1. Upon activation, subscription fee and/or allowance will be pro‐rated for 1st month. Upon deactivation, subscription fee and allowance are not pro‐rated. if inReach is suspended, a suspension fee of £4.00 per month will continue to be charged until service is resumed or deactivated.
2. Inclusive allowance is based on a bundle of bytes. Safety Plan: 1,500 bytes, Recreation Plan: 8,000 bytes, Expedition Plan 30,000 bytes. Each message sent from the device consumes a certain number of bytes. See contract for details.
3. Overage charges apply when inclusive allowance of bytes have been used during the month. Unused bytes do not rollover. Text message charge assumes 120 character message. Messages with a different number of characters will incur a different charge.
